Community hosts hamburger fry

The Durham community had a hamburger fry Aug. 10 in the park. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and baked beans were served to 90 people. Cake and ice cream was served later.
Allen and Donna Wiebe of Filer, Idaho, were overnight guests Aug. 12 of their cousins, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe. Additional supper guests were Richard and Charlotte Wiebe; Mark, Kris, Kayla, and Luke Wiebe; and Karletta Wiebe.
Dora Unruh’s sister, Eulalia, and Rudy Schroeder of rural Goessel visited Ron and Dora Unruh Aug. 15.
USD 410 students returned to class Aug. 18. Athletic practices began Aug. 16. Classes at Cottonwood Grove School began Monday.
Harry and Sheryl Rhodes had their family home Aug. 16 for dinner. They included Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family; Ken, Shellie, and Taylor Giesbrecht; and Meri Kay Rhodes and family.
Barb, Katelin, and Sarah Unruh stopped for a short visit Aug. 16 at the Ron Unruh home. Katelin will be leaving for Manhattan to attend school at Kansas State University. Sarah moved Saturday to Hesston to attend college.
