Café celebrates 15 years

Main Street Café in Durham celebrated 15 years in business Oct. 1. Free homemade ice cream was served.
The families of Clayton, Nelson, Wayne, and Calvin Wiebe and Travis Koehn hosted a basket supper Oct. 3 at the Brenton place. Each family invited another family including Richard and Charlotte Wiebe; Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and family; Jarold and Rhonda Koehn and family; Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht and Taylor; and Chet and Melissa Boehs.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the annual Duerksen family get-together Oct. 3. The Osage Mule Company of Goessel provided wagon rides and a catered supper. The event was at the home of Dora’s niece and her husband, Susan and Brandon Nafziger in rural Goessel.
Wendell and Linda Wedel and Roy and Nadine Davis attended a fish fry Oct. 6 at the home of Cynthia Koehn in Moundridge. A group from Texas prepared the meal.
An Unruh family reunion was Oct. 10 at a Newton restaurant. Ron and Dora Unruh were among those who attended. Five cousins from the H.P. Unruh family attended.
Hiram and Rhonda Wedel surprised their parents, Ron and Nadine Davis, Oct. 1, with a visit. They ate supper out in Durham. Hiram and Rhonda; Roy, Nadine, and Eileen; and Rick and LaVea Koehn went to Kansas City on Oct. 2. The group visited the world’s largest steam engine still in operation, the Challenger. The family had dinner at the Roy Davis home Oct. 3 before Hiram and Rhonda returned home to Pulaski, Iowa.
Dinner guests of Clayton and Betty Wiebe on Oct. 10 were Bryan and Rebecca Thomas and family, Greg and Charlene Wedel and family, Chet and Melissa Boehs, Leonard and Dianne Peachy, and Tim Davis.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks hosted a dinner Oct. 10. Their guests included Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and Janessa, Harry and Sheryl Rhodes, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, and Madelene Jantz of Moundridge.
Larry and Wanda Koehn and Titus, Wayne and Lora Lee Wiebe and family, and Stuart and Lea Isaac and Kyle were dinner guests Oct. 10 of Jarold and Rhonda Koehn.
