Linda Wedel helped her mother, Naomi Mayeskea, celebrate her birthday Oct. 14. They went out to eat in Wichita. On Oct. 16, the Mayeskea family had a reunion and basket supper at Harvey County Park West Community Building in Newton.
Her birthday was recognized with about 40 family members attending. Wendell and Linda, as well as the Greg Wedel family, attended.
Calvin and Janene Weibe, Quinton and Dianne Unruh, Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes, and four teachers from Cottonwood Grove School attended a school board meeting in DeRidder, La. They left Oct. 13 and returned Oct. 16.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe invited Devern and Jeanette Nightingale of Montezuma; Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and Kristina; Merlin and Karletta Wiebe; Mark and Kris Wiebe, Kayla and Luke; and Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family to their house after church Oct. 10 for refreshments.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the Tabor College musical, “The Pirates of Penzance,” on Oct. 17. Their grandson, Darren Enns, was a cast member.
A picnic was held Oct. 17 in Lindsborg Park for Beth Koehn, a teacher at Cottonwood Grove School.

Ruston and Lydia Dirks prepared a dinner Oct. 17 for guests Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and family, Anna Toews, Kristen Schneider, Titus Koehn, and Heath Dirks and his friend Jake of Lindsborg.
Guests for a dinner in the home of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were Warren and Jane Unruh; Quinton and Dianne Unruh, Katie, and Jessie; Harlan and Sherry Koehn and Mark; Clayton and Betty Wiebe; and Tim Davis.
Sarah Unruh of Hesston returned home for the weekend of Oct. 16 during fall break at Hesston College, where she attends.
