Larry and Wanda Koehn left the evening of Sept. 1 for Kidron, Ohio, to visit at the home of Christopher and Denise Schrock and Kai. Amy Koehn from Brooksville, Miss., was also visiting at the Schrock home. The Koehns were hoping to escape the heat from here, but it was in the upper 90s on Sept. 2 and 3 with a lot of humidity. They returned home on Sept. 7.
On Labor Day, Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys and Roy and Nadine Davis spent the afternoon at the zoo in Wichita.
On Sept. 9, the youth group from Morning Star Church and sponsors Doyle and Kara Wiebe and Dalton and Lorna Wiebe went to Moundridge Manor to help with the annual hamburger fry for residents and close family. The youth helped with setting up tables, etc., and then helped serve the meal. Guests from here who have relatives at the manor were Larry and Wanda Koehn and Bruce and Cheryl Dirks. There were about 500 at the meal and program.
Roy and Nadine Davis and Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys had a picnic dinner at the park in Durham on Sept. 11.
Celebrating birthdays with a dinner at the Darrin Rhodes home on Sept. 11 were Harry and Sheryl Rhodes, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, and Mike and Mich Rhodes and family. Those who had recent birthdays were Sheryl Rhodes, Darrin, and Teryl.
Arden and Judy Wiebe and family of Dalhart, Texas, came to visit the weekend of Sept. 4. They were houseguests of Ken and Sandy Wiebe and all attended the Wiebe breakfast before returning home on afternoon of Sept. 5.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe invited Chet and Melissa Boehs and daughter, Ruston and Lydia Dirks and girls, Richard and Charlotte Wiebe, Gary Davis, Aryln Wiebe, and Lance Wiebe to be their dinner guests on Sept. 11.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks left on Sept. 13 for a three-day reunion at West Cliff, Colo. The reunion was for those who had done community service at a Denver hospital in the late 1950s.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks had dinner Sept. 11 at the home of Marlin and Bethany Wiebe.
