Barb Unruh and her family attended memorial services of Barb’s mother, Juanita Stutzman, 84, of Buhl, Idaho, who died March 16 of cancer. Barb and Sarah left March 17 with Mark and Katelin flying there March 22. Services were March 23 at Filer Mennonite Church. The Unruh family returned later in the week.
Susan Decker and her friend Tammy Just visited the Hillsboro area March 13 and 14. Susan was surprised when her family gave her a birthday party. Her brother, Kris Decker, also surprised her by coming home for the weekend from North Carolina. Kris, Susan, Jaraine Redger, Earl, and Shannon ate dinner together March 15 in Newton.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the wedding and dinner of Derik Unruh and Erin Marshall at 4 p.m. March 20 in Salina.
Visitors of Ron and Dora Unruh March 19 for game night were Jim and Brenda Enns, Mark Unruh and Katelin, and Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna. Snacks were served by candlelight since the electricity went off around 9 p.m.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks went to the wedding of the son of Cheryl’s cousins Ken and Rita Friesen in Montezuma.
Dennis and Jewel Warkentin, Larry Koehn’s sister of Cartwright, Manitoba, visited relatives. The Warkentins and Larry and Wanda were supper guests March 20 of Lena Koehn and Margie Jantz in Newton. The Koehn family had a basket dinner March 21 at the Manor in Moundridge. Other guests were Howard and Iris Eck, Kendra, and Brianna; Carol Ann Haviland; Shannon and Jessica Eck of Greensburg; Lena Koehn; Margie Jantz; Tim and Shelia Koehn and family; Travis and Sharon Koehn and family; Dalton and Lorna Koehn and family; and Crystal Koehn.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe invited longtime friends Dennis and Lanita Unruh of Canton and Jerald and Lavonne Jantz of Burns for dinner March 21. Other guests were Wendell and Linda Wedel and Harry and Sheryl Rhodes.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks returned home March 21 after spending the week in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the annual church conference. They saw flooded fields and corn that had been harvested in the Dakotas.
