Durham Senior Citizens met Sept. 2 for a potluck supper at the community center. There were 16 present. Lola Redger and Jaraine Redger were hosts. Sheriff Robert Craft and Travis Wilson brought the drug dog, Dax. They presented an interesting talk about how the dog is trained to find drugs. Wilson is its trainer.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Carol Ann Unruh, who died Oct. 2. Her parents are Dayton and Maratha Unruh. Starla Harms of Liberty, Ky., a sister, came and stayed with her sister, Wanda Koehn. Chris and Denise Schrock and Kai of Kidron, Ohio, also came and stayed with their parents, Larry and Wanda Koehn. Services were Oct. 4 at Morning Star Church.

Mark and Barb Unruh and Kaitlin went to McPherson Sept. 29 to have supper with Barb’s brother Gordon Stutzman and his wife, Elaine, of Twin Falls, Idaho, and their son Chad Stutzman and Bradon of Hutchinson.

Lola Redger visited Marcella Unruh at Eagle Crest Homes in Salina on Sept. 30.

Some of those who went to Hydro, Okla., for the wedding of Katie Stutzman and Henry Koehn on Oct. 1 were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, the Jason Wiebe family, the Calvin Wiebe family, the Travis Koehn family, the Dalton Wiebe family, and several young people from the Morning Star Church. Katie taught for several years at the Cottonwood Grove School.

Guests for dinner Oct. 2 in the home of Stuart and Lea Isaac of Hillsboro were Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, Larry and Wanda Koehn, Warren and Jane Unruh, Quinton and Dianne Unruh, and Harlin and Sherry Koehn.

The Dan Duerksen family got together the evening of Oct. 2 at the home of Marvin and Rosalie Duerksen west of Goessel. Hosts for the potluck meal were Lon and Deb Hiebert, Carol Duerksen, and Maynard Knepp. The group toured the house and other buildings, bringing back many memories and stories of when Milt, Eulalia, Dora, Marvin, and Ella, all now deceased, were growing up. Attending from Durham were Ron and Dora Unruh and Mark and Barb Unruh and Kaitlin.
