Melvin Dirks died March 16 at Moundridge Manor. Memorial services were March 20 at Morning Star Church. He lived in the community many years ago, and community members have extended sympathy to his family.
Roy and Nadine Davis and Richard and Charlotte Wiebe were among the people who went March 18 to Inman for the viewing of Abe Nickel, 93.
Ron and Dora Unruh went to Trinity Mennonite Church on March 18 to hear the Hesston College Chorale, who gave a program that morning. Choir member Sarah Unruh is their granddaughter.
Wendell and Linda Wedel met her brother, Carl Mayeskea of Lakin, and Bev Mayeskea and Allen and Ann Mayeskea of Newton on March 17 for dinner in Wichita together. On March 18, Wendell and Linda took dinner to Moundridge Manor to eat with her mother, Naomi Mayeskea.
Ron and Dora Unruh, the Warren Unruh family, and Barb Unruh, Katlein and Josh Hendricks joined Jim and Brenda Enns, Lon and Deb Hiebert, and the David Enns family to visit Darren and Corina Enns on March 17 in Hesston.
The area received welcome rain March 19. There was about 1/2 inch in the rain gauge.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks had Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Roy and Nadine Davis, Warren and Jane Unruh, and Calla Wengar as supper guests on March 9.
Sarah Unruh returned home March 11 after spending 10 days on a choir tour with the Hesston College Choir during spring break.
Leland and Nedra Davis of Victoria, Texas, visited the weekend of March 11. On March 11, the Davis family had a potluck dinner at Cottonwood Grove Christian School, with Roy and Nadine Davis, Richard and Charlotte Wiebe, Troy and Marla Wiebe and family, Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and boys, Marlin and Bethany Wiebe and Jessami, Carlyn and Jackie Wiebe, Arlyn Wiebe, Rick and LaVae Koehn and family, John Steiner, Tim Davis, and Gary Davis in attendance.
Mark and Barb Unruh attended the wedding of Dr. Gatz Graf to Megan Scheuerman on March 10. The wedding was in Pratt, and the Unruhs are friends of the groom, who is a former Tabor College student.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe invited Greg and Dianne Becker and Kristie Koehn of Texline, Texas, Mark and Kris Wiebe, Lance, and Luke, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and Janesa, and Bryan and Rebecca Thomas and Christina and foster children for dinner on March 11. Greg and Dianne and Kristie stayed as overnight guests of the Wiebes.
Jarold and Rhonda Koehn and family, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Chelisa Koehn, and Charla Nightengale were dinner guests of Clayton and Betty Wiebe on March 11.
