The students and teachers of Cottonwood Grove Christian School had a hamburger fry April 19 for parents and grandparents. The theme of the night was “An Old-Fashioned Diner.” Decorations included Coca-Cola signs and other items from the 1950s. The children took orders and waited tables. It was the first time using the new kitchen and gymnasium. Darrel and Karen Unruh brought their small tractor to operate a five-gallon ice cream freezer. It was a special treat, and two freezers full were used.

Dora Unruh accompanied Barb Unruh and Katelin to a mother-daughter salad supper April 19 at Trinity Church in Hillsboro. Patsy Ferguson of McPherson presented the program on “Trash to Treasures.”

Harry and Sheryl Rhodes, Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and family, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Janene Wiebe and family, and Mike and Mich Rhodes and family went to the Brenton Place to clean it up and mow April 21. They had a picnic later.

Justin and Rebecca Wiebe and family of Bloomfield, Iowa, were overnight guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe on April 20 and 21. On April 22, they all attended the wedding of Melissa Hiebert and Dennis Peachy at Alexanderfeld Church near Hillsboro. There were several others from the area who attended the wedding as well.

Bruce and Cheryl Dirks invited Dennis and Ruth Froese and Wayne of St. Clair, Manitoba, Canada, Heath and Tannis Dirks, Marlin and Bethany Wiebe and Jessami, Ruston and Lydia Dirks and family, Clayton and Bethany Wiebe, and Jarold and Rhonda Koehn and family to be their supper guests April 20. The Froeses are parents of Tannis Dirks and are visiting the area for a while.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Ron and Betty Classen on April 21 at the Wheatland School near Moundridge.
