Crystal Troyer and Gary Davis were married July 1 at Morning Star Church. Gary’s parents, Leland and Neidra Davis of Texas, visited for the weekend. The couple will make their home in the Canton area. A supper for friends and relatives who came to the wedding was held at Wheatland School near Canton.
Terry and Robyn Schultz and family of Georgia, Mark and Kris Wiebe, and Merlin and Karlotta Wiebe and family were supper guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe on June 26.
Sharon Redger spent the weekend with her daughter and family, Mark and Kris Wiebe.
Durham Senior Citizens met for supper June 27 at the Community Building. Shirley Flaming was the hostess and asked Dennis and Lavina Schroder of Goessel to come for the evening. Lavina shared some of her paintings with the group of 24.
Carson and Bri Stutzman of Hesston visited the Unruh farm June 29 and went fishing with Katelin Unruh.
Larry and Eileen Schmidt were overnight guests of Roy and Nadine Davis on June 30. They came for the Troyer-Davis wedding.
The annual Unruh breakfast was June 30 at the Main Street Café. Guests of Dora Unruh were grandchildren David Enns, Jacob, Brandi, Lizzie, Sara, and Jacob, Darren and Corina Enns, Matt Hiebert, Katelin and Sarah Unruh, and Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna Unruh.
Bryson Holdeman and Dirk Walker of Missouri were overnight guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe on June 30.
Barb Unruh and Sarah Unruh attended the wedding of Amber Loewen and Stephen Turner on June 30 in Wichita. The wedding dinner was at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Lola Redger joined the rest of her family and friends July 1 at Hillsboro Cove for an early Independence Day picnic and afternoon of boating.
Merlin Wiebe’s hay barn caught fire July 2. It was full of alfalfa hay and was destroyed. It was an expensive loss, with a hay shortage in the area.
