Elvera Jantz who had lived with her husband, Harold, in this community for many years before retiring and moving to Newton, died Oct. 4. Burial was at Peace Valley Cemetery Friday morning with memorial services at Faith Mennonite Church, Newton, in the afternoon. Sympathy is extended to the family.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Heath, and Bethany were Sunday dinner guests of Melvin and Vera Dirks. In the afternoon, Bruce and Cheryl took Melvin and Vera to the 100th birthday celebration of Vera’s aunt Gladys Schneider at Moundridge Senior Center. They got to see relatives they hadn’t seen for many years.
Darrel and Donita Rhodes and Tyson had Sunday dinner at Pizza Hut in Abilene with Scott and Tami Koehn and Riley. They helped Scott celebrate his birthday Oct. 3.
Guests for Sunday dinner at the home of Marcel and Wendy Unruh were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Ruston and Lydia Dirks, and Stuart and Lea Isaac and Kyle.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the Unruh reunion Sunday with dinner at the Bread Basket in Newton.
Saturday evening, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks went to visit her mother in Hutchinson.
