Celia Gross spent three weeks in South Dakota with her sister, Ida Cross, and other family and friends.
Paul and Arlene Pankratz hosted a birthday dinner Saturday. Guests were Dorothy Seibel of Newton, Gerald and Loreta Seibel of Kechi, Tim and Donna Diener of Hillsboro, and Ken Pankratz of Durham. They celebrated Paul and Dorothy’s birthdays, both were Jan. 31.

Oliver and Frances Unruh and Beverly Elliott of Hillsboro joined other family for a late Christmas dinner Saturday evening at the home of their son, Sid, and wife Irma Unruh in Newton. Others in attendance were Toni and Lynette Mull and Marcus, Sarah and Brandon Unruh, and Jane Woodworth.
Kara Chisholm, bride-elect of Braden Steuve of Sharon Springs, was the honored guest Sunday afternoon at a bridal shower at the Durham Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Hostesses were Edie Ollenburger of Hillsboro, Eleanor Herbel of Tampa, Ashley Sheridan of Lehigh, and Mildred Hamm of Topeka.
