Council holds 1st meeting with consultants

Staff writer

Hillsboro city council members met Tuesday with a consultant who will help the city find an administrator to take over when Larry Paine retires at the end of June.

The city’s $10,000 contract with Osenbaugh Consulting, run by Don Osenbaugh, calls for the position to be advertised four to five weeks before resumes are reviewed.

Osenbaugh, who served as interim Hillsboro city administrator when Paine was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, came to talk with council members after Tuesday’s meeting.

After Osenbaugh reviews resumes and narrows the search down to three or four candidates, interviews will be conducted. The city hopes to have a new administrator on duty by mid-June.
