Marion County Democrats met April 13 at the conference room of Marion Community Center.

County chair Eileen Sieger conducted the business meeting and the steering committee reported on a preliminary perusal of four scholarship applications received.

Jill Tichenor provided dates for all third Saturdays in 2019 as meeting choices.

Ongoing discussion topics included fundraising, a candidate forum for county commission candidates, and the state fair booth.

The next meeting will be 10 a.m. May 18 at the Masonic Lodge in Florence.
