Marion County Democrats met Saturday at Marion Community Center.

Cards with the party platform were distributed.

Precinct people were instructed to file at the courthouse by June 1 to be on the August Democratic primary ballot.

The group voted to offer two $250 scholarships to county high school students. Deadline to apply is April 15.

The group worked on plans for a gubernatorial forum May 5 at Marion County Lake Hall. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the forum will begin at 12:45 p.m. Written questions from the audience will be accepted.

The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. April 21, tentatively at Marion Community Center.
