NEW ARRESTS

Amanda K. Adam, 35, McPherson, jailed Saturday for 48 hours on court orders. Previously jailed Nov. 19 and 20 on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Brendon D. Schafer, 24, Hillsboro, jailed Tuesday for failing to appear in court. Released seven minutes later after posting a $100 cash bond. Previously jailed April 29 on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia to purchasing alcohol for an underage person.

Patricia L. Miller, 42, Topeka, jailed Friday for 48 hours on court orders. Previously jailed seven times for a total of 94 days between Dec. 8, 2020, and Dec. 10, 2022. Previous jailings were for failing to appear in court four times, for allegedly violating her probation, on a Georgia warrant, and on suspicion of possessing stimulants and drug paraphernalia (two times each), transporting an open container of alcohol, and driving while her license was canceled, suspended, or revoked.

William R. Shearer, 41, Florence, arrested Monday by a sheriff’s deputy for allegedly violating his probation. Released 2½ hours later after posting a $1,000 surety bond. Previously jailed four times for a total of eight days between Dec. 22, 2021, and April 21, 2023. Previous jailings were on court orders and on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; endangering a child; twice driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked; transporting an open container of alcohol; and twice violating an order of protection.

Channing L. Wall, 29, Hillsboro, jailed Thursday for 48 hours on court orders. Previously jailed June 6 to 8, 2022, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Nicholas D. Waner, 34, Marion, arrested Aug. 9 by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of domestic battery. Released three hours later without bond. Re-arrested Tuesday by Marion police for failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of $2,500 surety bond.
