NEW JAILINGS
Sheridan W. Brown, 33, Peabody, arrested Saturday by Peabody police on suspicion of disorderly conduct and consumption of liquor on a street, alley, or road. Released 18 hours later on his own recognizance. Previously jailed Sept. 28 and 29, 2020, on suspicion of domestic battery and April 11 and 12, 2019, on suspicion of two counts of assault.
Jouanna S. Cain, 32, Florence, jailed Monday on suspicion of theft by deception and driving while her license was canceled, suspended, or revoked. Released an hour later after posting $10,000 in bonds. Previously jailed May 22 and April 28, both times for failing to appear in court.
John W. Emerick II, 55, Horton, jailed Thursday for twice failing to appear in Peabody Municipal Court. Held in lieu of $4,000 cash bail. Previously jailed Feb. 21 to 23, 2022, for allegedly violating his probation; Aug. 13, 2021, on suspicion of driving with an expired license plate, without liability insurance, and while his license was canceled, suspended or revoked; and June 20 to 24, 2021, on an unspecified warrant.
Kevin D. Geier, 46, Wichita, arrested Thursday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Released 1½ hours later after posting a $2,500 bond.
Shannon T. Lehr, 41, Herington, jailed Monday for the Kansas Department of Corrections. Previously jailed five times for a total of 73 days between Oct. 11, 2019, and May 16, 2023. Previous jailings were on court orders, for contempt of court, for allegedly violating his probation twice, and on suspicion of distributing stimulants, possessing drug paraphernalia, and having no marijuana tax stamp.
Eduardo R. Ortiz, 41, Herington, jailed Friday for 48 hours on court orders.
Derrick E. Ratzloff, 27, Marion, jailed Friday for three days on court orders. Previously jailed five times for a total of 10 days between July 5, 2020, and June 25, 2023. Previous jailings were on court orders twice and on suspicion of aggravated assault and of twice driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and transporting an open container of alcohol.
Kelby J. Schmidt, 30, Halstead, jailed Monday for 15 days on court orders. Previously jailed seven times for a total of 27 days between Feb. 10, 2022, and June 2, 2023. Previous jailings were on court orders four times, for allegedly violating his probation, and on suspicion of interfering with a law enforcement officer, being a pedestrian under the influence of drugs or alcohol, criminal damage to property, reckless driving, and attempted harassment by a telecommunications device.
Tyler J. Slater, 33, Peabody, jailed Sept. 27 by a bounty hunter for twice failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of $40,000 in bonds. Previously jailed six times for a total of 31 days between Sept. 22, 2018, and Sept. 23, 2021. Previous jailings were on court orders, for contempt of court, for allegedly violating his probation twice, and on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, and domestic battery.
Kurtis M. Welch, 33, Peabody, arrested Sept. 27 by Peabody police on suspicion of driving an unregistered vehicle without liability insurance. Released 17 hours later after posting $3,000 in bonds.
