This information was the most current on file in criminal division of Marion County District Court as of June 1. Information often is not available until more than a week after hearings. Journal entries must be checked by the defense, prosecution, and judge before they are filed.
Dustin Dean Altum, 405 E. 8th, Newton; diversion agreement filed May 23 on a charge of domestic battery. Defendant must obtain an anger-management evaluation and follow its recommendations and pay $125 diversion fee, $138 court costs, and $22 surcharge. If defendant completes diversion in six months, charge will be dismissed with prejudice.
Brandon Lee Doherty, 1401 Adam Travis Ct., Salina; plea hearing continued from April 18 to May 23 on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, battery, criminal damage to property, and assault. First amended complaint filed May 29, revising charges to battery, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass.
Justin Makovec, 302 C St., Ramona; hearing held April 18, status hearing scheduled for May 23 on a charge of criminal restraint.
Rebecca Alline Almond, 309 N. Lincoln, Hillsboro; pleaded no-contest April 23 to a charge of disorderly conduct; charge of criminal trespass dismissed with prejudice. Imposition of sentence suspended six months; defendant cannot initiate contact with Tim and Diana Howell and must pay $160 court costs and surcharge.
Douglas Bryant Eden, 116 W. 3rd St., Peabody; sentenced April 23 on a conviction of domestic battery with a previous conviction. Ordered to serve five days in jail with credit for time served and placed on 12 months probation. Must undergo a domestic violence assessment.
Nicole R. Hardey, 617 Abilene Ave., Durham; hearing continued from April 23 to May 7 on seven counts of giving a worthless check. Charges dismissed without prejudice April 23.
Phillip William White, 2050 College View Road, Manhattan; arraigned May 7 on motion to revoke probation; defendant waived hearing and stipulated to violation (failure to remain crime-free). Probation reinstated for 12 months; defendant ordered to obtain drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all terms and conditions, plus pay $60 supervised probation fee.
Dakota Landon Dillashaw, 409 S. Cedar, Hillsboro; first appearance continued from May 7 to may 9 on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and attempted escape from custody. Information filed May 30 with same charges.
Thomas J. Kerchner, 1710 N. Main B-2, Newton; arraigned May 15 on motion to revoke probation; defendant denies allegations; hearing scheduled for July 10.
Matthew Charles Mickey, 313 N. Madison, Hillsboro; arraigned May 15; pleaded innocent to charges of residential burglary, felony theft, and criminal damage to property; pretrial status hearing scheduled for July 10.
Ashley E. Johnson, 212 S. Date, Hillsboro; had first appearance May 15 on a charge of disorderly conduct; arraignment scheduled for June 13.
Christopher R. Wilson, 126 Forrest, Marion; had first appearance May 15 on a charge of disorderly conduct; counsel appointed and arraignment scheduled for July 10.
Tyler J. Slater, 586 Needle St., Peabody; had first appearance May 15 on a charge of disorderly conduct; counsel appointed and arraignment scheduled for June 13.
Charles W. Matthews, 102 W. Santa Fe Apt. 4, Marion; arraigned May 15, pleaded innocent to criminal damage to property and battery; trial scheduled for July 23.
Bradford A. Cody Jr., 144 N. Roosevelt, Marion; May 15 status hearing continued to June 12 on a charge of obstruction of official duty.
Jimmie Corbin, 211 Main, Gridley; found guilty of speeding on appeal of Florence municipal case; all fines and costs waived.
Joshua Lee Vines, Florence; information filed May 30 charging defendant with criminal damage to property and assault.
Terrius R. Jones, 707 Cedar Creek Drive, Salina; ordered May 21 to spend six days in jail as sanction then placed back on supervised probation for 12 months. Defendant did not appear to serve jail time May 22.
Marjorie A. Huffman, 2578 Goldenrod, Hillsboro; hearing continued from May 21 to June 12 on a charge of permitting a dangerous animal to be at-large.
