David Winter, 22, died Dec. 3 at Saluda, N.C. He was born Nov. 30, 1990, in Hillsboro to Dale and Rachel (Hofer) Winter. He was a railroad conductor.

He is survived by his parents and a sister, Erin Winter, all of Hillsboro.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Steve Schroeder officiating.

A memorial fund has been established for the Cooper Riis Healing Community Scholarship Fund.
