Roy and Nadine Davis left for their fall vacation Oct. 7 to Clarksdale, Mississippi, to visit Larry and Eileen Schmidt and Kasey Wayne. They enjoyed getting acquainted with their new grandson and help in the Schmidt home. They returned home on Oct. 13.
Having supper in the home of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe Oct. 12 were Ruston and Lydia Dirks and family, Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, Rebecca Peachy, Katie Schmidt Jessica Martin and Marissa Litwiller.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe and Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were among others who attended the Oct. 14 morning Memorial services for James Hiebert at the Alexanderfeld Church near Hillsboro.
Going to the home of Gary and Crystal Davis on Saturday for supper were Roy and Nadine Davis, Tim Davis, Leland and Neidree Davis, and Paul and Letha Royer, Crystal’s parents from Fredonia.
Visiting the home of Lela Wedel in Durham were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe on Oct. 16.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Loretta Wiebe, Nelson Wiebe family Travis Koehn family, Calvin Wiebe family and Wayne Wiebe family attended the Sunday wedding of Jason Schmidt and Larissa Decker at the Halstead Church. Jason’s mother is a niece of Betty.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe are proud great-grandparents of a son Grant Caleb, born Oct. 12 to Randy and Laura Unruh of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. Frank and Karen Unruh of California and the Harold Isaacs of Ulysses are the grandparents.
Fall decorations were used to decorate the farm shed at the Ransom Wiebes for the Cottonwood Grove Schools annual Poem Festival on Oct. 13. The student’s recited poems which some had written and other poems were also used and all were memorized. Refreshments were served after.
