Demos to highlight Threshing Days
A visit to Goessel during Threshing Days, Aug. 3 to 5, will provide a look back in time, when threshing, corn binding/shelling, and plowing were common.
Sawmill, threshing, and field demonstrations will be offered every afternoon. A draft horse demonstration is scheduled for all afternoon Aug. 4, and large engine start ups will be offered every day.
A parade is planned for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 4. Farm animals and activities will be available for children from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a pedal tractor pull at 2 p.m.
Cindy Sigmond, a Newton artist, will teach landscape painting at 2 p.m. at WHEAT Hall.
Breakfast, lunch, and supper will be served Aug. 3 and 4.
A worship and song celebration will be 7 to 9 a.m. Aug. 5, followed by an early Sunday dinner. Supper will be at 2 p.m.
