Department on Aging available to answer Medicare questions

The Marion County Department on Aging wants to remind people that it is time to sign up or change their Medicare Part D plan for 2014.

Policy questions can be answered by calling Gayla Ratzlaff at (620)382-3580 or at any local pharmacy.

The department will be available for appointments at the following locations to answer questions, Hillsboro Oct. 30, Nov. 13, and Nov. 25 from 8 a.m. until last appointment at the Hillsboro Senior Center, call (620) 947-2304 to set up an appointment; Peabody Senior Center and Indian Guide Terrace Apartments, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. until noon, then 12:30 until last appointment, call (620) 983-2226 for an appointment; and Goessel City Building Oct. 28 and Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. until last appointment, call the department for an appointment.

The department can also provide customer assistance to those in need of assistance with the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Enrollment in the marketplace is Oct. 1 through March 31 and is open for individuals and families with no or limited insurance through their employer. Plans are not for those over 65 who have Medicare. For more information on the policies and how to enroll, call (620) 382-3580.
