Young people who could become successful business owners are being invited to start a chapter of Kansas Power Ups, a networking group for people ages 21 to 39 who have chosen to live in rural areas.

“I’ve been talking with people who created the group for a few months and I finally decided to see if there is any interest,” said Terry Jones, Marion’s new economic development director. “It’s basically a young professionals group, only for everyone.

“It’s a great way to meet people and network and get established to form an agenda as a group.”

The time and date for an initial gathering has not been set. Jones is waiting to see what times would be best for potential members, who may contact him at terry@marionks.net.
