Disaster loans available for small businesses

Federal low-interestl disaster loans area available to non-farm businesses for revenue lost due to the drought beginning April 29.

Because Marion is bordered by counties declared disaster areas, the county qualifies for loans to lessen the impact on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers who will sustain losses because of the drought.

Those elegible for loans include small businesses both private and non profit. Loans will have interest rates of 4 percent for business or 2.625 percent for private nonprofit organization for a maximum of 30 years.

Applications can be found at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
