Dodd responds to theft of signs
Staff writer
Craig Dodd, a write-in candidate for Marion County commissioner, recently reported to law enforcement officials that 14 of his yard signs in Hillsboro were stolen. Also stolen were five large banner signs on T posts in rural areas.
When asked about the thefts, Dodd said, “I’m not going to point a finger at anybody. I know it wasn’t kids. It’s not something I would do. Everybody can do what they want, but it’s childish.”
Dodd said he wasn’t too concerned about it.
“My reputation speaks for itself,” he said. “I want the personal face-to-face approach. That’s the way small towns work.”
He plans to hold a series of town hall meetings in various towns throughout the county before Election Day, Nov. 4.
His new slogan? “I would rather have your vote than the sign in your yard.”
