Dog complaints common in Hillsboro

Staff writer

Dogs running loose and dogs barking a little too much or a bit too loudly are complaints common to Hillsboro police officers.

“We’re receiving dog complaints all the time,” Hillsboro police chief Dan Kinning said in response to four dog complaints his department assisted with last week.

In just two days —Thursday and Friday — police officers took reports of three dog complaints in addition to assisting the sheriff’s department with a dog bite complaint.

In the past three weeks, Hillsboro police has assisted with seven dog complaints, including helping a subject locate their dog, responding to a dog left in a vehicle, and reporting barking dogs and dogs running loose.
