Donald Bloomer

Donald James Bloomer, 72, of Peabody, died Sept. 3.

He was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Peabody, to Henry and Caroline (Peterson) Bloomer.

He was a welder at the former Hesston Manufacturing.

He married Parlee Lillian Martin in 1955 at Newton Congregational Church. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Marcia Sebree of Oakley, Ill., Janet Rosine of Duncan, Okla., and Donna Glover of Peabody; two brothers, John of Peabody and Leonard of Topeka; seven sisters, Mary Russell and Sharon Smith of Newton, April Deichen of Wichita, Carol Piland and Shirley Solomon of Peabody, Dorothy Brown of Fort Scott, and Karen Voth of Moundridge; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were Tuesday at Peabody United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Ragland officiated.

Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas and Peabody United Methodist Church in care of Baker Funeral Home, 114 N Sycamore St, Peabody KS 66866.
