Donald Frick

Mass for former Tampa resident Donald Dean Frick, 87, Topeka, who died July 23 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Private inurnment will be later at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tampa.

He was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Hillsboro to Mary Alice (Wright) and Monroe G. Frick and graduated in 1956 from Tampa High School.

He married classmate Elizabeth “Betty” Agnes Duggan on Aug. 16, 1958, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Tampa, worked 10 years with Santa Fe Trailways Trucking and then joined Goodyear Tire and Rubber, retiring after 33 years.

He served for 23 years as a director of Rubber Workers Credit Union and later Azura Credit Union. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus and James W. Gibbons Fourth Degree Assembly.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; sons John, Robert and Bryan; sister Mary Ann Frantz; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Mater Dei parish.
