Donald Pracht

Services for Donald “Don” Pracht, 86, of Cottonwood Falls, who died Friday at Chase County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

He was born April 27, 1931, to Orval and Agnes (Bechelmayr) Pracht at his parents’ home in Chase County. He graduated from Americus High School in 1950.

Pracht served six years in the Army. He married Lois Jean Kelsey on June 12, 1960, in Marion. The Prachts raised their family in Maize.

He worked as a welder/fabricator for VIM Trailer Manufacturing and retired from Brenner Tank. He was an angler, hunter, and gardener.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and a sister, Doris Brunner.

Survivors include son Jim Pracht of Wichita; daughters Sharon Esposito of Andover and Donna Jean Pracht; brothers Dan Pracht of Goddard, Dick Pracht of Marion, and David Pracht of Grove, Oklahoma; sisters Pearl Wilt and Ethel Kufahl, both of Topeka; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials have been established for Chase County Care and Rehab Activities Department and Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church.
