Donna Rosiere

A memorial service for Donna (Blaszczyk) Rosiere of Florence, 64, who entered the gates of heaven Sept. 9, 2021, will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service at 3 p.m.

Born Nov. 27, 1956, at Fort Riley, Donna was preceded in death by her parents, George and Joan Blaszczyk, and sister-in-law, Courtney Blaszczyk.

Donna grew up in Wamego until her family moved to Parkville, Missouri, in 1966. Donna graduated from Park Hill Senior High in 1974.

She was employed at various businesses in the Kansas City area, working at Kansas City International airport for a Gilbert/Robinson restaurant and then working in the airport gift shop. That is where she met her husband, Billy Dale Rosiere.

She attended Maple Woods Community College, majoring in microbiology and computer science. She also worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center as a laboratory technician.

Donna married Bill on May 16, 1980. The couple recently celebrated 41 years together. Bill worked at Braniff International Airlines. They resided in the Northland area of Oakview, a suburb of Gladstone, Missouri. Bill’s job with Braniff took them to Lewisville, Texas, and later to Southlake, Texas.

They moved back to the Midwest, settling in Florence. They purchased the Marion Dry Cleaning and Laundry business.

They made many friends who took items to their business over the years from Marion and the surrounding communities. They truly liked the service they received from Donna and Bill.

Donna is survived by her husband and by siblings Sharon (Blaszczyk) Lynn and husband Darrel of Minnesota; Wanda (Blaszczyk/Way) Koehn and husband Bob of Claycomo, Missouri; Jaccie Blaszczyk of Florence; Linda (Blaszczyk) Riddle and husband Dale of Montgomery City, Missouri; and Peter Blaszczyk of Knob Noster, Missouri. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.
