Mayor Mike Sorenson reported to the Durham City Council Aug. 2 that he had noticed some erosion problems at the sewer ponds and asked if they should consider draining them. After some discussion, the council decided to seek advice from the state before making a decision.
The new recycling system was discussed, although the recycling bin has not yet been delivered. The Council decided to collect recyclables twice a month after the bin is available.
The usual monthly report on water usage was not available, but the sewer pumps ran 38 hours in July.
Among the bills approved for payment was $550 to repair a water leak and replace a water meter.
