Early voting underway for Tuesday's election

In its first week, early voting in Tuesday’s municipal elections saw a steady trickle of about 20 voters a day in the halls of the courthouse.

Contested positions on the ballots for the Tuesday’s election include:

  • Two Burns council positions. Running are Mary Strotkamp, Roland Boesker, and Eugene Pearson.
  • Florence mayor and two council positions. Running for mayor are Bob Gayle and Heather Burstein and for council are Gary McCall, Kenneth Hoffman, Mark Slater, Calvin Pendergrass, and John Burstein.
  • Two Marion council positions. Running are Amy Smith, Ruth Herbel, and Tim Baxa.
  • Peabody mayor and three council positions. Running for mayor are Leslie Thouvenell, Catherine Weems and Lindsay Hutchison. Running for council are Linda Martinez, Kevin Burke, Alan Gillen, Draxa Langley, and James Philpott.
  • Four Centre school board positions. Running are Thieen Antoszyk, Nathan Brunner, Michelle Hajek, Amanda Pagenkopf, and Lance Diepenbrock.
  • Four Peabody-Burns school board positions. Running Teddy Dover, Paige Barnes, Hope Reynolds, Brian Simmonds, Travis Wilson, and Korie Hattan.
  • Four Marion school board positions. Running are Justin Dameron, Nick Kraus, Amy Soyez, Mitch Guetterman, Roman Hofer, Jillian Edmundson, and Bryant Gutsch.
  • Four Hillsboro school board positions. Running are Jared Jost, Sarah Fenske, Roderick Koons, Jimmy Janzen, Jim Paulus, and Ashley Kleiber.

Early voting will ends at noon Monday. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Polling sites will be:

  • Burns Community Center, 301 N. Washington, Burns.
  • John McKay American Legion Post 308, 401 Main, Florence.
  • Goessel City Building, 101 S. Cedar, Goessel.
  • Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 905 E. D St, Hillsboro.
  • Lincolnville Community Center, 213 W. 6th St., Lincolnville.
  • Eastmoor United Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Dr., Marion.
  • Peabody Senior Center, 106 N. Walnut St., Peabody.
  • Tampa Senior Center, 100 Main St., Tampa.
