Economist to speak about experiences with Russian farmers
The 68th annual meeting of the Marion County Conservation District is Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
Josh Roe, an economist with the Kansas Department of Agriculture, will be the speaker.
A former instructor with Kansas State Research and Extension, he was part of a team of faculty members who received a USDA grant to be host to Russian scholars in Kansas.
The Russians spent two months in Kansas learning about agricultural conservation practices. The Kansas team made two trips to Russia, where they conducted training sessions for Russian farmers and toured crop and livestock operations throughout southeast Russia.
Roe will speak following the 6:30 p.m. meal.
