Election offers choices

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Tuesday’s primary elections.

Democratic voters can choose from Laura Kelly and Lynn Rogers, Joshua Svaty and Katrina Gier Lewison, Arden Anderson and Dale Cowsert, Jack Bergeson and Alexander Cline, and Carl Brewer and Chris Morrow for governor and lieutenant governor.

Races for 1st District U.S. representative, secretary of state, attorney general, state treasurer, commissioner of insurance, 70th District state fepresentative, and Seventh District Board of Education are uncontested.

No precinct committeeman and committeewoman races are contested. Dan R. Peterson and Linda D. Peterson are running in Clear Creek precinct. Martin L. Holler and Marlene Sue Clough are running in Centre precinct. Ann Carr is running in Marion South precinct. Janet Bryant is running in Marion North precinct. Eileen Sieger is running in Grant precinct. Michael Brandt is running in Risley precinct.

Republican voters will have more selections for national, state and county offices.

Voters will choose from Roger Marshall and Nick Reinecker for Congress.

Patrick “PK” Kucera and Patricia Reitz, Tyler Ruzich and Dominic Scavuzzo, Ken Selzer and Jen Sanderson, Joseph Tutera Jr. and Phillip Clements, Jim Barnett and Rosie Hansen, Jeff Colyer and Tracey Mann, and Kris Kobach and Wink Hartman are candidates for governor and lieutenant governor.

Craig McCullah, Scott Schwab, Dennis Taylor, Randy Duncan, and Keith Esau are candidates for secretary of state. Races for attorney general, state treasurer, and 70th District state representative are uncontested. Clark Shultz and Vicki Schmidt are candidates for commissioner of insurance.

Don Schroeder and Stephen Owens are candidates for 74th District state representative.

Robert M. D’Andrea and Ben Jones are candidates for Seventh District Board of Education.

Larry J. Cushenbery, Kent D. Becker, and Craig Dodd are candidates for 1st District county commissioner.

Races for Precinct committeeman and committeewoman are uncontested. Clinton H. Seibel and Delores Dalke are running in Hillsboro 2nd precinct. Jerry Makovec is running in Marion North precinct. Roger and Cynthia Fleming are running in Hillsboro 1st precinct. Wayne E. Geis and Debra K. Geis are running in Moore precinct. Richard E. Tippin and Norma Tippin are running in Menno precinct. Linden Thiessen and CleoBeth Friesen are running in Liberty precinct. Donald Stenzel and Betty Ann Stenzel are running in Gale precinct. Greg Davidson and Rose Davidson are running in Centre precinct. Bob Brookens and Anita F. Brookens are running in Marion South precinct. Tom Spencer and Tina D. Spencer are running in Peabody East precinct.

Stephanie Ax-Lago is running for Peabody township clerk, and Charles W. Svoboda is running for Clear Creek township clerk.
