FEb. 24

5:59 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to Hilltop Manor for a man with breathing difficulties. The man was not transported.

2:30 p.m. — A man in his 50s with breathing difficulties was transported by Marion ambulance from Peabody Care Center to Newton Medical Center. Peabody first responders assisted with the call.

4:49 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 200 block of S. Roosevelt St. for an elderly man who was not breathing. The man died at the scene.

5:32 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to 120th and Indigo Rds. to check on a controlled burn.

feb. 25

7:13 a.m. — A man in his 70s with dizziness and difficulty moving was transported by Marion ambulance from Highland Rd. at the county lake to St. Luke Hospital.

9:29 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 700 block of S. Ash St. for an man with dizziness. The man was not transported.

10:58 a.m. — A woman who fell and hit her head was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from Parkside Homes to St. Luke Hospital.

12:52 p.m. — Goessel firefighters responded to 80th and Diamond Rds. for a pasture fire.

4:49 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Newton Medical Center.

8:13 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Salina Regional Health Center.

thursday

7:12 a.m. — Burns first responders and Peabody ambulance responded to the 100 block of S. Washington St. in Burns for a woman with abdominal pain. The newspaper’s system did not record subsequent calls.

7:46 p.m. — A woman who fell was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from the 200 block of W. Grand St. to Hillsboro Community Hospital, arriving at 8:18 p.m. At 9:18 p.m., the ambulance picked up an EagleMed crew at Hillsboro airport and took them to HCH, and returned to the airport at 9:40 p.m. It is undetermined whether the woman was transported, as EMS transmissions did not include any patient information and the newspaper’s system did not record calls from the EagleMed helicopter.

friday

5:40 a.m. — A woman in her 80s with a possible broken arm resulting from a fall was transported by Peabody ambulance from the 400 block of Poplar St. to Newton Medical Center.

6:26 p.m. — Ramona firefighters responded to a hay bale fire on 360th Rd. between Pawnee and Quail Creek Rds. At 6:42 p.m., Tampa firefighters were dispatched to provide mutual aid.

saturday

6:58 a.m. — A transmission from Peabody EMTs indicated the ambulance was en route back to the station after a response for which no transportation was provided. The newspaper’s system did not record the initial dispatch or subsequent transmissions indicating the location or nature of the call.

9:05 a.m. — A man in his 80s described as “incoherent” was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from Parkside Homes to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

11:55 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance provided non-emergency transportation of a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to St. Luke Hospital.

3:09 p.m. — An man in his 80s who fell was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from the 200 block of S. Birch St. to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

3:42 p.m. — A woman who was vomiting blood was transported by Florence ambulance from the100 block of S. Nickerson St. in Burns to Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.

4:41 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

10:50 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to St. Luke Hospital.

sunday

1:42 a.m. — Peabody firefighters and ambulance responded to a trailer house fire on W. 8th St., across the street south of the Coneburg Inn. Firefighters reported all vehicles returned to the station at 5:40 a.m.

1:49 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

2:33 a.m. — Ramona firefighters returned to the scene of Friday’s hay bale fire on 360th Rd. in response to a report the fire had reignited.

8:42 a.m. — A man in his 90s with a fever and vomiting was transported by Florence ambulance from the 600 block of W. Marion St. in Burns to Newton Medical Center.

12:02 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 200 block of S. Buller St. in Goessel for a man in his 50s with the flu and elevated heart rate. No additional transmissions were recorded after the ambulance arrived on the scene.

Monday

11:04 a.m. — A man in his 80s who fell on some ice was transported by Marion ambulance from St. Luke Medical Clinic to Wesley Medical Center.

12:32 p.m. — Marion ambulance No. 2 responded to St. Luke Hospital to transport a patient to Wesley Medical Center. At 1:08 p.m., Hillsboro ambulance responded to St. Luke after a request to take over the call and performed the transport.

2:55 p.m. — A man who fell and reported shoulder pain was transported by Marion ambulance from the 200 block of N. Washington St. in Hillsboro to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

4:12 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a pasture fire on Falcon Rd. between US-56 and 210th Rd.

5:49 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was dispatched to US-50 west of Peabody just over into Harvey County for an elderly man who had a seizure and was not breathing. A sheriff’s deputy and Peabody ambulance arrived at the scene first, began CPR, and initiated the transport. Peabody ambulance rendezvoused with Hillsboro ambulance on US-50 west of Indigo Rd. to take on an additional EMT and completed the transport to Newton Medical Center.
