According to fire and ambulance transmissions, monitored by the newspaper:

april 21

2:16 p.m. — Peabody ambulance and a sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of an unresponsive male at a residence on 60th Rd. between Quail Creek and Remington Rds. The ambulance reported being back at the station at 4:07 p.m., and no transmissions were recorded indicating transport to a medical facility.

4:58 p.m. — A Life Team helicopter landed at St. Luke Hospital and departed at 5:29 p.m. for Emporia to refuel. No transmissions were recorded indicating a reason for the stopover at St. Luke.

april 22

2:53 p.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a patient from Westview Manor to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. The ambulance returned to the station at 4:58 p.m., at which time an EMT reported the ambulance would be out of service, “for lack of personnel to cover.”

8:39 p.m. — A man who reported having been in a fight was transported by Florence ambulance from the 700 block of N. Elm St. in Peabody to St. Luke.

9:21 p.m. — Burns firefighters discovered the source of a smell reported near Mid Kansas Coop to be vapor and liquid seeping from a leaky valve.

10:02 p.m. — A woman who was vomiting was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from the 100 block of S. Wilson St. to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

11:08 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a patient from St. Luke to Wesley.

thursday

3:12 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance and firefighters responded to a one-vehicle accident on Indigo Rd. between 150th and 160th Rds. The driver reported to law enforcement he was uninjured, and no transportation was provided.

friday

12:01 p.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a woman from the 200 block of Fifth St. to Newton Medical Center.

2:08 p.m. — A woman who felt ill was transported by Marion ambulance from the 1500 block of E. Main St. to St. Luke.

9:51 p.m. — Burns first responders and Florence ambulance responded to the100 block of Cincinnati St. for a woman who fell. The woman was uninjured and no transportation was provided.

saturday

7:57 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to 210th Rd. between Bison and Chisholm Trail Rds. for a man in his 60s who was feeling light-headed and lethargic. The man was not transported.

8:40 a.m. — Burns firefighters responded to Mid Kansas Coop for a possible anhydrous ammonia leak. Similar to a call earlier in the week, firefighters discovered a loose valve to be the source of the leak.

11:04 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a woman from Bethesda Homes in Goessel to Newton Medical Center.

11:56 a.m. — A man in his 80s with chest pains was transported by Peabody ambulance from the 700 block of E. First St. in Hillsboro to HCH. Hillsboro first responders assisted with the call.

1:56 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was paged to determine the availability of advanced-life-support transport. An ALS crew was not available. No additional pages for an ALS crew were recorded by the newspaper’s system around this time.

3:56 p.m. — A transmission on the Florence fire frequency requested the ambulance to transport a woman from the 200 block of W. Fourth St. to St. Luke.

sunday

8:04 p.m. — A woman who was weak and fell was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from 210th Rd. between Diamond and Eagle Rds. to HCH.

monday

4:50 a.m. — A man in his 50s who fell to the floor and was described as “incoherent” was transported by Marion ambulance from the 100 block of N. Cedar St. to St. Luke.

6:28 a.m. — After four pages to Peabody ambulance went unanswered, Marion ambulance transported a patient from St. Luke to Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

2:51 p.m. — A woman in her 60s who fell and suffered a head injury at Peabody Health and Rehab was transported by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical Center.
