Dispatches
According to fire and ambulance transmissions, monitored by the newspaper:
Sept. 1
8:54 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a woman in her 80s who fell and was complaining of leg and hip pain from Parkside Homes to Hillsboro Community Hospital.
11:52 a.m. — Peabody and Marion ambulances were called to 110th Rd. between Limestone and Mustang Rds. for lifting assistance.
1:45 p.m. — Marion ambulance and Peabody responders were called to the 500 block of N. Vine St. in Peabody for a woman complaining of eye pain. Peabody had a full crew, so Marion was dismissed. The woman was not transported.
Sept. 2
12:46 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to Pine Tree Lane at Marion County Lake for a woman who was having difficulty breathing and had fallen down multiple times. She was transported to St. Luke.
5:53 a.m. — Marion ambulance transferred a basic-life support patient from St. Luke to Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita.
10:59 a.m. — Lincolnville fire responded to 290th Rd. about a mile west of Lincolnville for a truck that swerved off the road and had leaking oxygen tanks.
1:29 p.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a man having difficulty breathing from the 400 block of N. Locust St. to Newton Medical Center.
2:12 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to Clover St. near 180th Rd. for a man who was sweating and not feeling well. He was transported to St. Luke.
4:08 p.m. — Hillsboro fire responded to the 700 block of W. A St. for a reported smoke odor. Firefighters reported an electrical problem, but found no fire.
7:27 p.m. — Peabody ambulance responded to the 100 block of Division Ave. for a man in his 50s who was having difficulty breathing. The man was not transported.
THURSDAY
1:19 a.m. — Goessel fire, Goessel responders, Hillsboro fire, Peabody fire, and Hillsboro ambulance arrived at the 300 block of E. Commercial St. for a house fire. Goessel fire responded to the scene first, and were able to handle it, so Hillsboro fire, Peabody fire, and Hillsboro ambulance were called off.
8 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 400 block of S. Freeborn St. for an elderly woman losing consciousness. The woman was transported to St. Luke.
Friday
3:10 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to central booking at the sheriff’s office for a non-emergency call. There were no transports.
1:24 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a man who had fallen approximately 15 to 20 feet from the roof of a carwash west of Pizza Hut on US-56 to St. Luke.
1:45 p.m. — Lincolnville fire responded to the Centre High School VoTech/Agriculture building for a fire alarm that was going off. No fire was discovered, and the alarm was reset.
8:06 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a woman who was not feeling well from Park Ave. near Park Ct. to HCH.
8:39 p.m. — Dispatchers called Marion fire to respond near Cottonwood Point at the Marion Reservoir after someone reported seeing a fire from the dam. An officer that was called to the scene reported he only found a controlled burn that had been called in.
8:46 p.m. — Marion ambulance, Hillsboro ambulance, Hillsboro fire and Hillsboro rescue responded to near 150th St. and K-15 for a two vehicle accident. Hillsboro transported one subject to Newton Medical, while the other subject refused transport, so Marion ambulance was dismissed.
9:26 p.m. — Marion ambulance and Marion fire were called to the old Elmer’s station on Main St. after someone reported that it looked like the back was on fire. Marion fire reported people had a fire pit and everything was under control.
Saturday
10:26 a.m. — Marion ambulance, Marion rescue, and Marion fire were called to four miles east of the US-56/77/K-150 junction on K-150 after someone reported a vehicle parked in the grass with the driver’s head leaning on the steering wheel. An officer on the scene reported that the vehicle had a blowout and the driver was not injured.
9:35 p.m. — Tampa ambulance responded to US-77 south of Herington for an injury accident at the request of Dickinson County. After Tampa ambulance arrived on scene, they were dismissed.
sunday
7:33 a.m. — Florence ambulance responded to Town and Country restaurant for a woman who was having a possible diabetic reaction. She was transported to St. Luke.
2:22 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a 10-year-old boy having seizures from near 210th and Sunflower Rds. to St. Luke.
Monday
7:12 p.m. — Marion fire and Hillsboro fire were called to Old Mill Rd. between 240th and 250th Rds. for oil battery tanks on fire. Marion fire told dispatchers the rain was too heavy for them to drive in to the field. As there were no structures in danger, the fire was allowed to burn itself out.
7:20 p.m. — Tampa fire responded to 230th and Goldenrod Rds. for hay bales on fire.
10:15 p.m. — Marion fire responded to a power line that was down and sparking near a propane tank in the 800 block of S. Coble St. Marion fire also responded to calls in the 400 block of S. Coble St. and the 400 block of S. 1st St. for a transformer sparking.
10:37 p.m. — Marion ambulance transferred a patient from St. Luke to Newton Medical Center.
10:41 p.m. — Marion fire responded to a fire in a tree with a live line on Rock Rd. at the Marion County Lake.
11:26 p.m. — Marion fire responded to the 800 block of S. Coble St. for an electrical fire in a backyard of a home.
11:46 p.m. — Marion fire responded to a fire at Burbridge and 1st Sts.
