These broadcasts regarding fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

3:11 p.m. — A woman in her 80s whose medical alert was set off in the 300 block of W. 11th St. received assistance getting up from Marion ambulance and a Florence first responder. The woman was not transported to a hospital.

5:19 p.m. — A Tabor College soccer player in her 20s who suffered head and neck injuries in a game at Wiens Stadium was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita. EMS director Ed Debesis and Hillsboro firefighters assisted.

8:32 p.m. — Peabody ambulance was placed on standby for a possible suicidal individual at Westview Manor.

8:37 p.m. — Marion ambulance and firefighters were dispatched for a possible vehicle accident at 220th Rd. and US-77. Responders did not find an accident, although they searched the highway up to 270th Rd. Dispatchers called back the reporting party, who said that they did not see an accident, but thought there could be one because of a line of traffic that had slowed and built up.

11:41 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke Hospital was taken by Marion ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita.

1:47 p.m. — A patient at Hillsboro Community Hospital was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

10:44 p.m. — An elderly woman at Parkside Homes who fell and was complaining of hip pain was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

friday

1:53 a.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

5:43 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance and Goessel first responders were dispatched to the 300 block of Meadow Ln. in Goessel for a woman who fell and needed assistance getting up. No additional transmissions were recorded by the newspaper’s system.

8:09 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters and ambulance were dispatched for a vehicle that went into a ditch on US-56 1½ miles east of Hillsboro. Firefighters were dismissed en route, and the ambulance returned to the station without transporting anyone.

4:13 p.m. — Tampa and Durham firefighters assisted Roxbury firefighters with a vehicle fire in a shed on 330th Rd. between Alamo and Bison Rds.

5:07 p.m. — A woman in the 500 block of Elm St. in Peabody was taken by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical Center. A specific condition could not be determined due to garbled transmissions, but she was reported as “code green” by EMTs, indicating a non-life-threatening condition.

8:28 p.m. — Goessel first responders asked dispatchers to notify HCH that a teenage male with leg pain from a football injury was en route to the hospital by personal vehicle.

9:59 p.m. — A woman in her 30s who had passed out twice 500 block of E. Grand St. was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

12:33 p.m. — A man who was dizzy in the 400 block of N. Ash St. was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

9:51 p.m. — A man with stomach pains on Lakeshore Dr. at the county lake was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

sunday

5:41 p.m. — A man who had been in a car accident two days prior and had swelling that had gotten worse was taken by Tampa ambulance from the 400 block of B St. in Ramona to a hospital. Ramona firefighters helped lift the patient.

8:27 p.m. — Marion ambulance and firefighters were dispatched to a possible vehicle accident that a dispatcher reported as being “just east of the roundabout on highway 56.” When Marion ambulance reported it was “several miles” east of the roundabout and had not yet found an accident, the dispatcher had no additional information. The vehicle was found about 4¼ miles east of the roundabout on K-150 east of Zebulon Rd. EMTs examined one individual who was not transported to a hospital.

9:20 p.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Marion ambulance to Wesley Medical Center.

monday

10:08 a.m. — A woman who fell in a tub and was unable to walk was taken by Peabody ambulance from the 800 block of Locust St. in Peabody to St. Luke Hospital.

10:58 a.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis.

1:20 p.m. — A man who fell on 110th Rd. between Limestone and Mustang Rds. was assisted in getting up by Peabody ambulance and firefighters. The man was not transported to a hospital.

9:19 p.m. — A patient at Herington Municipal Hospital was taken by Tampa ambulance to Wesley Medical Center.

10:20 p.m. — A female having seizures in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. in Hillsboro was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.
