These broadcasts regarding fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

oct. 10

5:33 a.m. — A vehicle involved in a police chase crashed into a tree near 110th and Quail Creek Rds. Marion ambulance and firefighters were dispatched. The ambulance call was terminated after it was determined the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

9:28 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters plugged a gas meter in the 200 block of S. Date St. that had been struck by a vehicle.

10:26 a.m. — A woman possibly having a stroke in the 600 block of S. Freeborn St. was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke Hospital.

11:16 a.m. — Goessel firefighters responded to Goessel High School for a fire alarm. No fire was discovered and the alarm was reset.

12:08 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

5 p.m. — A man who fell and injured a hip at a residence on K-256 between Eisenhower Dr. and Upland Rd. was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

7:09 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

oct. 11

2:22 a.m. — A patient at Hillsboro Community Hospital was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.

10:22 a.m. — A person in their 20s with breathing difficulties in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. in Hillsboro was taken by Marion ambulance to HCH.

10:47 a.m. — A woman in her 80s who fell in the 600 block of E. C St. was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

2:54 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Wesley Medical Center.

3:17 p.m. — Tampa and Hillsboro ambulances and Ramona and Tampa firefighters responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on Quail Creek Rd. between 310th and 320th Rds. A woman with a scalp wound and possible neck injury was airlifted by Lifestar helicopter to an unknown hospital.

4:53 p.m. — A woman who fell at Indian Guide Apartments was assisted by Peabody ambulance. No one was taken to a hospital.

6:30 p.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Wesley Medical Center.

6:43 p.m. — A woman in her 70s who was not feeling well on 40th Rd. between Xavier and Yarrow Rds. was taken by Peabody ambulance to Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.

3:14 a.m. — A man who fell at Parkside Homes was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

2:31 p.m. — A woman who passed out in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. was checked by Marion ambulance. No one was transported to a hospital.

friday

2:44 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a power line on fire at 130th and Indigo Rds.

3:46 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

3:56 p.m. — A tractor fire at 260th Rd. and US-77 was extinguished by Lincolnville firefighters.

saturday

12:28 p.m. — An alarm company reported a fire alarm going off at a residence on Jade Rd. between 230th and 240th Rds. Hillsboro firefighters did not discover any smoke or fire. The alarm was reset by the owner.

3:23 p.m. — A resident at Salem Home was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

5:28 p.m. — A burning tree on 280th Rd. between Remington and Sunflower Rds. was extinguished by Lincolnville firefighters.

7:12 p.m. — A man in his 70s who fell at Peabody Health and Rehab was taken by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

sunday

6:45 a.m. — A man who fell and had slurred speech at Parkside Homes was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

10:39 a.m. — An individual having problems with medication was taken by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical Center. The location of the call could not be determined due to garbled transmissions.

2:09 p.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Marion ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita.

4:49 p.m. — A man with an unspecified condition on Back Bay Ct. at the county lake was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to St. Luke.

7:33 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters were dispatched to Tabor College for a fire alarm, but the call was terminated when an alarm company called to report a false alarm.

7:42 p.m. — An individual with breathing difficulties in the 500 block of Orchard Dr. was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

monday

2:43 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

3:52 p.m. — A combine and corn field fire on 120th Rd. between K-15 and Chisholm Trail Rd. was extinguished by Goessel firefighters.

7:29 p.m. — A fire alarm at Tabor College townhouses was triggered by a cooking incident. Hillsboro firefighters ventilated the building and reset the alarm panel.

8:19 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Via Christi – St. Joseph in Wichita.

8:44 p.m. — A woman in ther 80s with chest pains at Parkside Homes was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

10:41 p.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.
