Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper:

may 1

9 a.m. — Tampa firefighters and a sheriff’s deputy responded on Nighthawk Rd. between 300th and 310th Rds. for a shed that had burned down overnight.

10:48 a.m. — A man who felt ill after dialysis the prior day was taken from Prairie Ln. at the county lake to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance.

1:22 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

3:12 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

3:48 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Via Christi – St. Francis by Hillsboro ambulance.

5:10 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

7:27 p.m. — When an individual with a medical alert did not respond to calls in the 700 block of S. Lincoln St., Hillsboro ambulance was dispatched and took one individual to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

9:33 a.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

4:24 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

9:07 p.m. — A burning light pole in front of the administration building at Tabor College was extinguished by Hillsboro firefighters.

thursday

7:55 a.m. — A woman who fell and injured her knee in the 1500 block of E. Main St. was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

10:24 p.m. — A woman who fell in the 300 block of 300 block of S. Wilson St. in Hillsboro was taken to St. Luke by Hillsboro ambulance.

friday

1 a.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken to Via Christi – St. Francis by Marion ambulance.

8:15 p.m. — A patient with a possible stroke was taken from St. Luke to Via Christi – St. Francis by Marion ambulance.

saturday

4:50 a.m. — Tampa ambulance and Ramona and Lost Springs firefighters were dispatched to 340th Rd. between Quail Creek and Remington Rds. for a rollover accident. No additional transmissions about the call were recorded by the newspaper’s system.

11:42 a.m. — A woman in her 90s with breathing difficulties in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St. in Marion was taken to HCH by Marion ambulance.

4:06 p.m. — A car fire on Limestone Rd. between 270th and 280th Rds. was extinguished by Durham and Tampa firefighters.

5:40 p.m. — Marion fire and rescue and ambulances from Marion and Hillsboro responded to a two-vehicle accident at 190th and Remington Rds. An ambulance attendant reported three individuals at the scene were “code green,” indicating no serious or life-threatening injuries. No calls were recorded reporting that anyone was taken to a hospital.

sunday

6:38 a.m. — Peabody ambulance was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Olive St. for someone who fell, but the call was terminated immediately after an alarm company contacted dispatchers to report the person got up on their own.

7:22 a.m. — Peabody ambulance was dispatched for a man in his 60s with chest pains on 60th Rd. between Quail Creek and Remington Rds. No additional calls were recorded by the newspaper’s system until the ambulance reported it was back in Peabody at 9:10 a.m.

8:29 a.m. — Florence ambulance reported it was done with a previous call (for which no transmissions were recorded) and was en route to Newton Medical Center.

10:08 a.m. — A man in his 60s with breathing difficulties was taken from Holly Rd. between 180th and 190th Rds. to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance. Hillsboro firefighters assisted.

5:03 p.m. — Marion ambulance was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Pavilion St. in Peabody to assist Peabody ambulance. With a Peabody technician on board, Marion ambulance took an individual to Newton Medical Center.

monday

3:17 a.m. — A patient with hypoglycemic issues at Peabody Health and Rehab was taken to Newton Medical Center by Peabody ambulance. Peabody firefighters assisted.

9:46 p.m. — Florence ambulance was dispatched for an unresponsive man with congestive heart disease on Vista Rd. between 70th and 80th Rds. Marion ambulance and sheriff’s deputies responded as backup. At 9:53 p.m., dispatchers reported the man was in his 20s and was receiving CPR, and Marion ambulance requested Florence firefighters be dispatched to provide additional compression assistance. At 10:26 p.m. a sheriff’s deputy requested a Lifeteam helicopter to respond to St. Luke. Marion ambulance took the patient to St. Luke, arriving at 10:50 p.m. A helicopter landed at St. Luke shortly after 11 p.m. A sheriff’s deputy reported the helicopter was “back in the air” at 11:37 p.m. No transmissions were recorded with patient or destination information.

9:57 p.m. — A person described as having a possible stroke at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course was discovered by Hillsboro ambulance attendants to have tipped over in a wheelchair. The person refused to be taken to a hospital.

11:08 p.m. — A woman with a possible stroke at Peabody Health and Rehab was taken to Newton Medical Center by Peabody ambulance.
