Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper:

MAY 29

6:16 a.m. — Law enforcement and Peabody ambulance were sent to what was reported to be a possible domestic dispute at Vine and Division Sts. in Peabody. EMTs reported that a potential patient with psychological issues declined to be taken to a hospital.

3:40 p.m. — A person found unresponsive and not breathing on the floor of a residence in the 100 block of W. Division St. in Peabody was taken to Newton Medical Center by Peabody ambulance. A Marion ambulance crew and the county emergency medical services director also responded to the call and treated the patient en route.

4:15 p.m. — A woman on oxygen who was having trouble breathing at a house south of 170th Rd. on K-15 was taken to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance. First responders from Goessel did not answer a page.

8:39 p.m. — A reported field fire near a cell phone tower on Alamo Rd. between 110th and 120th during a thunderstorm could not be located by Goessel firefighters.

MAY 30

11:10 a.m. — An elderly man having trouble breathing in the 200 block S. Schmidt Lane in Lehigh was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

7:15 p.m. — A victim of an auto accident at Cedar Point Cemetery was taken to Via Christi – St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, by Florence ambulance, which was called at the request of Chase County authorities.

11:42 p.m. — A drunken driving suspect in his 20s who passed out after a sheriff’s deputy stopped his car near Main St. and Eisenhower Dr. in Marion awakened and declined to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

THURSDAY

7:43 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters reset a fire alarm that continued to sound after a small grease fire that already had been extinguished at Parkside Homes.

2:08 p.m. — A 73-year-old woman who was dizzy and could not stand up at a residence on Schlotthauer Dr. at Eastshore was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance.

5:22 p.m. — An HCH patient was transferred to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

5:35 p.m. — A St. Luke patient was transferred to St. Francis by Marion ambulance.

10:34 p.m. — A report of an unauthorized bonfire near C and Date Sts. in Hillsboro was investigated by Hillsboro firefighters, who discovered it was a controlled fire in a fire pit.

FRIDAY

1:26 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient to Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. Further information about the call was not recorded.

2:32 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported a patient to Newton Medical. Further information about the call was not recorded.

5:03 p.m. — A 66-year-old woman who fell out of a motorized wheelchair and hit her head while trying to navigate a ramp in the 500 block of S. Cedar St. declined to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

SATURDAY

2:57 p.m. — A St. Luke patient was transferred to Wesley by Hillsboro ambulance. Marion ambulance was on standby at Chingawassa Days.

SUNDAY

10:08 a.m. — Peabody firefighters spent an hour assisting Harvey County in fighting a mobile home fire near US-50 and Webb Rd., two miles northeast of Walton.

10:28 p.m. — Marion ambulance attendants helped lift but did not take to a hospital a 65-year-old woman who had been feeling weak and dizzy in the Victory Lane apartments.

MONDAY

11:19 a.m. — Two ambulances — one from Peabody, which was dispatched, and one from Marion, which volunteered to respond — examined but did not take to a hospital a 46-year-old woman with an irregular heartbeat at a residence east of Wagonwheel Rd. on US-50. The two ambulances arrived simultaneously.

2:32 p.m. — A medical panic button pressed by an 81-year-old woman summoned Marion ambulance to a Victory Lane apartment on a false alarm.

About 4 p.m. — A one-vehicle rollover near 150th and Sunflower Rd. resulted in only minor injuries, not requiring a trip to a hospital. Marion fire, rescue, and ambulance all were dispatched.
