Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

May 26

7:39 a.m. — A 51-year-old stroke victim with high blood pressure was taken from the 100 block of N. Main St., Hillsboro, to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance. Because the ambulance had been in Marion at the time, Hillsboro first responders also were called to help.

3:47 p.m. — A 75-year-old man having trouble breathing near 130th and Indigo Rds. was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance. Hillsboro ambulance and firefighters assisted.

5:25 p.m. — A woman who fell at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

May 27

3:03 a.m. — A 33-year-old woman who passed a kidney stone was taken from the 100 block of W. 6th St., Florence, to Newton Med by Florence ambulance.

6:19 p.m. — An HCH patient was transferred to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

5:55 p.m. — Durham firefighters responded to a false alarm sounding in the 100 block of W 3rd St.

7:18 p.m. — Peabody, Florence, and Burns firefighters and Peabody ambulance were called to Westview Manor for a false alarm.

friday

12:33 a.m. — Ramona firefighters, Tampa ambulance, and Marion rescue squad were called to a one-vehicle rollover accident near Quail Creek and 360th Rds. but no one was taken to a hospital.

10:51 a.m. — An 81-year-old man who was not feeling well in the 400 block of N. Coble St., Marion, declined to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

12:20 p.m. — A man not feeling well in the 200 block of E. F St., Hillsboro, was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

3:49 p.m. — A 25-year-old man with chest pains near Nighthawk Rd. and US-50, declined to be taken to a hospital by Peabody ambulance.

5:14 p.m. — A man who requested an ambulance near of Lakeshore Drive and Backbay Ct., Marion County Lake, was taken to Newton Med by Marion ambulance.

6:02 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters extinguished a car fire near Goldenrod Rd. and US-56.

7:32 p.m. — One person was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance after a one-vehicle rollover near 190ths and Quail Creek Rds. Marion firefighters and rescue squad also responded.

4:10 a.m. — A woman who fell at Marion Assisted Living was helped up but declined to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

5:13 p.m. — A 93-year-old man with a dislocated elbow at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro was taken to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:42 p.m. — A St. Luke patient was transferred to Newton Med by Marion ambulance.

11:50 p.m. — A 70-year-old man with leg pain was taken from the 100 block of W. 7th St., Florence, to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

12:32 p.m. — A 30-year-old man who had chest pains and trouble breathing was taken from the 100 block of S. Olive St., Peabody, to St. Luke by Peabody ambulance.

2:39 p.m. — An HCH patient was transferred to Robert J. Dole Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:17 p.m. — A 75-year-old man who fell at a residence near US-50 and Mustang Rd., was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance.

11:36 p.m. — A 91-year-old woman was taken from Parkside Homes to St. Luke by Hillsboro ambulance.

monday

9:23 p.m. — Sheriff Rob Craft was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance after a one-vehicle rollover during a police chase near Remington and 170th Rds.

9:47 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters monitored a gas leak near 1st and Lincoln Sts., Hillsboro, until a gas company crew could repair it.

4:35 p.m. — A 33-year-old man who was unconscious but breathing was taken from near Goldenrod and 150th Rds., to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance.

6:21 p.m. — Marion firefighters extinguished a garage fire in the 100 block of E. Forest St., Marion. Florence and Hillsboro firefighters also were called, but the call to them was canceled.

10:38 p.m. — Hillsboro and Lehigh firefighters extinguished two vehicles that caught fire under suspicious circumstances in the 300 block of E. Marion St., Lehigh.
