Emergency manager advises businesses to be prepared

Staff writer

County emergency manager Randy Frank introduced himself to Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce members Tuesday, also getting a feel for their business affiliations.

Frank spoke to members mostly about handling and rebounding from natural disaster events, giving examples of why it is important to be prepared in emergency situations.

“After an event, most businesses that do not completely reopen their doors within 60 days never reopen,” he said.

Frank answered additional questions about recent disaster’s impacts on business insurance, and changes to FEMA rules.
