Emice H. Hein, 84, of Hillsboro, died Oct. 3 at Newton Medical Center. He was born on March 15, 1927, at Hillsboro, to Henry W. and Tina (Duerksen) Hein.

He married Lydia Adrian on Sept. 29, 1947, at Buhler. He was a farmer and a member of the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

In addition to his spouse, he is survived by three sons, Michael of McPherson, Kenneth of Durham, and Eugene of Newton; a sister, Viola Reeves of Haysville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jost Funeral Home of Hillsboro was in charge of arrangements. The family received guests Thursday evening. The memorial service was Friday at the Hillsboro M.B. Church. Pastor Loyal Martin officiated. Burial was in the French Creek Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
