Ernestine M. Hurdle, 80, died Monday at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis Street, Wichita.

She was born Jan. 26, 1931, near Cedar Point on the family farm, to Ernest and Gladys (Fetrow) Lespagnard, who preceded her in death. Her sister Ruth “Rusty” Ford also preceded her.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Wells, of Florence; stepdaughter Patricia Hurdle Patterson of Independence, Mo; and siblings George Lespagnard of Haysville and Blanche Williams of Wichita.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Florence. A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church in Florence. Interment will be in Cedar Point Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established with the church.
