Erratic behavior case ends in plea bargain

Staff writer

A Marion woman arrested numerous times for erratic and unruly behavior struck a plea bargain Jan. 28 and got most charges against her dismissed.

Rexana J. Siebert, charged in 10 criminal cases between December 2019 and August, pleaded no contest to three counts of battery against a law enforcement officer.

Prior to her plea agreement, she had been ordered by the court to undergo psychiatric evaluation to determine whether she was competent to stand trial.

In addition to pleading no contest to the three charges, Siebert agreed to comply with recommendations of her mental health providers, take medication as prescribed while she is on probation, and pay $439.92 restitution. Sentencing is scheduled for May 16.

The majority of charges in the 10 cases were dismissed. Dismissed charges include three counts of disorderly conduct, three counts of interference with law enforcement, three counts of giving a worthless check, three counts of criminal trespass, and one count each of domestic battery, battery, and residential burglary.

She had been arrested for, among other things, entering the home of an acquaintance to take a bath, and refusing to leave her mother’s property after she had been told to do so.
