Staff writer

A walk-off home run by Carley Wilhelm in extra innings gave Marion an 8-6 softball victory Friday against Inman.

The girls went on to beat Inman again in the second game, 25-15.

“In both games, Inman grabbed the early lead,” coach Judy Noller said. “I was really proud of how the team fought hard and battled back to win both games.”

In the second game, all nine players finished with two runs each. Most had three. Calli Burkholder led the team with four hits, three runs, and four runs brought in.

“The offense was patient at the plate and had quality at bats, scoring 16 runs in the bottom of the sixth to finish the game.”

On Tuesday, the girls were unable to repeat Friday’s performance, losing 19-9 and 21-11 to Moundridge.
