Hillsboro High School seniors Rebecca Faber and Matt Wiebe of Hillsboro were recently named as Presidential Leadership Fellows by Tabor College.

With the distinction, Faber and Wiebe each received a $1,000 scholarship. The fellows were selected from an extensive pool of leadership candidates, with 19 finalists.

The fellows will experience mentoring by Tabor College President Jules Glanzer, develop leadership skills through regular meetings and discussions with the class of Leadership Fellows, and serve the Tabor College student population while pursuing academic achievements.

The scholarship program began this year with the first class of fellows coming to the campus in the fall. The selection process included an extensive application. Finalists were invited to the Hillsboro campus to participate in a competitive process, which evaluated their skills of public speaking, writing, group problem solving, and interaction with other students.
