FCCLA members attend workshop
Hillsboro High School FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) attended the Fall Leadership Academy Oct. 29 at Pratt as a member of District G FLA.
The keynote speaker was Jack Taylor of Kansas State University who spoke about leadership.
Members participated in workshops and activities. More than 1,000 pounds of clothing had been collected by 20 chapters and donated to the Salvation Army. War veteran Kirk Pederson thanked members for the donation.
The Hillsboro chapter was awarded a plaque for being a State Honor Chapter. Students also were recognized for completing Step ONE. They were Ashlyn Simmons, Katrina Muzyka, Evana Holtsclaw, Megan Chizek, and Rhiannon Janzen.
Those receiving recognition for completing Power of ONE were Viktoria Bichet, Simmons, and Emily Hoskinson. April Young was recognized for participating in national STAR events.
