Lincolnville Park comes alive

After an absence of three years, Lincolnville Octoberfest brought a good crowd Saturday to enjoy a beautiful, cool day at the park.

A 15-minute parade down Main St. opened the festivities. The Centre High School band and Centre Junior High football team participated. Candy was plentiful and popular with children along the route.

At least 12 vendors, including Al’s Café and Bill and Essie’s Barbecue, offered food and other items for sale in the park.

The day ended with a street dance.

“We had a small crowd, and the band was really nice,” committee member Leann Troutt said. “It was a nice day. The weather was perfect. We are looking forward to next year.”
