Frequent flyer to make appearance at Peabody cruise

Staff writer

Sunday Cruise enthusiasts can anticipate a worship service and music from Gerry McCaan this Memorial Day weekend.

McCaan, a member of a Christian Motorcycle Association chapter out of Andover, is no stranger to the event held in Peabody every fourth Sunday of the month April through October.

“I’ve been helping for four years since it started,” he said. “In 2017, local churches started getting involved, so for last year and this year I come down about three or four times a season. It’s a great opportunity to get up there and play and meet people.”

McCaan said he’s met a lot of people through the event and looks forward to his participation.

“Peabody is great,” he said. “I love the people there. It’s great to build a relationship with people who continually come back and meet new faces every month.”

Peabody Historical Society will kick off the morning serving breakfast featuring sausage and egg casserole, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, and coffee by donation. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new air conditioner for the museum.

Peabody Burns Junior/Senior High School cheer squad will have a bake sale along with other vendors such as Grab-N-Go Hotdogs, C-F Cookers, Paul’s Pork Chili Burritos, and Carol Callahan and her homemade canned goods. Pop’s Diner will also be open.

McCaan said he has developed favorite flavors of the cruise.

“I have a favorite polish sausage and love the pork chili,” he said. “I always order cranberry pecan cinnamon rolls, too.”
